About us
Built and maintained by renewable energy enthusiasts
The Renewable Advisory Service is an independent public-interest platform for Mauritius. It exists so that households, businesses, industry and planters can understand the available renewable energy schemes and size a system with credible engineering numbers before speaking to anyone selling equipment.
A collective, not a company
We are practising engineers working across solar PV design, grid integration, storage and energy economics in Mauritius. We contribute to this platform in our own time.
Free, for the public benefit
Every calculator, scheme summary and report on this site is offered at no cost. There is no paywall, no account requirement and no sales funnel.
Continuously updated
Scheme rules, tariffs and incentives in Mauritius change often. We revise the calculators and guidance as each new regulatory document is published.
Published-source modelling
Tariff structures, export rates, sizing ceilings and scheme rules are transcribed from published regulatory documents and information leaflets.
Transparent engineering assumptions
Peak sun hours, performance ratio, degradation, consumption growth and storage depth of discharge are stated on every report rather than hidden in a black box.
Vendor-neutral
No equipment brand, installer or financier pays for placement in our results. Recommendations follow the numbers only.
Advisory, never a substitute
Outputs are indicative estimates for planning. Final capacity, protection and connection terms are set by the utility and your certified engineer.
- 1
We read the primary documents
Scheme leaflets, tariff schedules, grid codes and model connection agreements are reviewed as they are issued.
- 2
We encode the rules
Capacity ceilings, sizing formulas, metering options, storage mandates and export rates are translated into the calculators.
- 3
We model your case
Your consumption drives dynamic sizing, a full financial pipeline and a downloadable technical report you can hand to any installer.
- 4
We keep it free
Updates continue as regulations evolve, with no charge to users at any point.
